Cheetah releases 2022 Digital Consumer Trends Index

Cheetah Digital, in conjunction with eConsultancy, has released their 2022 Global Digital Consumer Trend Index where they look at consumer attitudes in personalization, privacy, messaging, advertising, and brand loyalty based on a sample of 5,400 consumers across six countries.

Key takeaways from the report include:

  • Consumers are more privacy-conscious than ever, with significant increases in incognito browsing, PC cleaner use, password generator use, and ad blocking technology.
  • Consumers are OK with brands collecting and using data but don’t like data appending or being followed around the web with cookies.
  • Consumers will pay more for brands that personalize engagement, but they also want their data treated with respect and want to be rewarded for their loyalty.
  • Consumers want more exclusivity and engagement from loyalty programs. They want more contests, but also more personalized product recommendations.

The 91-page report is well written with many insightful charts that are broken down by country and key segment. I would have liked to have seen more trending information (showing comparison to previous years) but really an awesome study worth downloading. Countries included in the survey include US, UK, Australia, France, Spain, Japan.
