The Email Optimization Shop conducted a test in 2020 where they found that reducing the copy in a promotional email generated a 918% lift in revenue.
It wasn’t just that the text was reduced — the presentation was simplified as well. Even though the clickthrough rate was about the same, the revenue generated from the simpler email was significantly higher.
In December Sleeknote published the results of a number of different studies that all yielded similar results.
Included among them was a study by Boomerang which studied over 40 million emails and found that messages with 75-100 words performed best.
