3 Ways to Use SMS for Retention Marketing

Sam Makad from The Next Scoop has assembled a thoughtful list of ways SMS can be used to grow customer loyalty. He is quick to point out that while SMS messages have higher engagement than email, it can quickly become a source of irritation for your customers if you overuse it.

The three tactics Sam recommends are:

  • Personalize your SMS content
  • Use SMS to build a chatbot for interactive conversations
  • Leverage geofencing to text customers when they are near your venue (I’m not entirely sure how the permissions work for this one)
